ForgeFPGAs Tackle Basic Interface Chores

Renesas' ForgeFPGA targets the low end of the FPGA space with low-power, low-cost FPGAs with only a couple thousand LUTs.

Renesas Electronics' Dialog Semiconductor is jumping into the low-end FPGA space with its ForgeFPGA product line. I talk with Nathan John, Senior Director of Marketing at Renesas about this new venture. 

The initial 1K and 2K lookup-table (LUT) devices are designed for low-cost, low-power applications such as custom interfaces for microcontrollers.
