The RSL15 Bluetooth 5.2 Wireless MCU from onsemi, an ultra-low-power M33-processor-based Bluetooth Low Energy (LE) microcontroller, is designed for smart devices in industrial and medical applications or, in this case, supermarket tracking. The related software development kit (SDK) provides sample applications demonstrating the solution's capabilities for security with the Cybersecurity Platform.

The MCU acquires sensor data in Smart Sense mode, and configures the built-in power management and Bluetooth LE features. It can handle up to 10 simultaneous connections, with backwards compatibility and support for earlier Bluetooth LE specifications such as 5.1, 5.0, 4.2, 4.1, and 4.0.

Ultra-low-power operation features include a sleep mode (GPIO Wakeup) at 3 V and 36 nA, or crystal oscillator or RTC Timer Wakeup at 3 V and 57 nA. The Smart Sense mode enables some digital and analog peripherals to remain active to monitor and acquire data from external sensors at a very low system-level power consumption.
