Traco Adds Dual-Output Models to 20-W Railway DC-DC Line

Aug. 22, 2019
The TEQ 20 series features 2,250-V dc I/O isolation, undervoltage lockout, overtemperature protection, and short-circuit protection.

Traco Power recently extended its TEQ 20 series of 20-W railway/rugged industrial dc-dc converters with versions that have dual outputs of ±12 and ±15 V dc.

The TEQ 20WIR is a series of isolated high-performance railway dc-dc converter modules with ultra-wide 4:1 input voltage ranges, claims the company. The series comprises 18 models offering 9- to 36-V, 18- to 75-V, and 43- to 160-V input ranges and outputs of 5, 12, 15, 24, ±12, and ±15 V dc.

According to Traco Power, an efficiency of 87 to 88% combined with thermal-block construction allows for a convection/full-load operating temperature range of -40 to +83°C (up to +93ºC with power derating).

Features of the TEQ 20 series include 2,250-V dc I/O isolation, undervoltage lockout, overtemperature protection, and short-circuit protection.

The series is qualified for EN 61373/MIL-STD-810 for mechanical shock, thermal shock, and vibration. Models are safety approved to UL/IEC/EN 60950-1 (CB Report) and EN50155 with an internal filter for EN 55032 class B conducted and radiated emissions. They are supported by a three-year product warranty.

Products are in stock and available through the Traco Power global distribution network with manufacturing lead times of 12 to 14 weeks. Please see here for specifications, drawings, and safety documentation.
