Buck Regulator Delivers 2.5 A from 4 mm x 4-mm QFN

Linear Technology’s LTC3602 is a 3-MHz synchronous buck regulator that uses constant-frequency, current-mode control to deliver up to 2.5 A continuous at voltages as low as 0.6 V from a 4-mm x 4-mm QFN or TSSOP-16.

Device type: Synchronous buck regulator
Input voltage range: 4.5 V to 10 V
Output voltage range: as low as 0.6 V
Output current: 2.5 A
Quiescent Current: No load quiescent current is only 75 µA, less than µA in shutdown,
Efficiency: up to 95% at VIN = 5 V and VOUT = 3.3 V
Features: internal switches with RDS(ON) of only 65 mΩ and 90 mΩ, a user programmable 300-kHz to 3-MHz switching frequency, 99% maximum duty cycle, 0.6V ±1% reference, adjustable burst-mode threshold, external synchronization capability, power good output voltage monitor, and overtemperature protection; the regulator can be configured to run in forced continuous operation to reduce noise and potential RFI
Operating temperature range: -40°C to +85°C
Packaging: 16-lead exposed TSSOP and 4-mm × 4-mm
