Self-Contained High-Performance Power Switch

Silego Technology announced a self-contained 3.8 mW power switch optimized for 3 to 3.6 V power distribution and designed to handle continuous load currents up to 10 A. Based on its innovative CurrentPAK™ technology, the SLG6M6201V is the Company's first fixed-configuration version of its NVM-programmable CurrentPAK™ Configurable Mixed-signal IC, or CMIC.

Introduced in 2014, the SLG6M6001V offered the industry full programmability of multiple IC parameters using built-in NVM (Non-Volatile Memory). The new SLG6M6201V greatly simplifies high-power, 3 V power distribution in server and RAID systems with these capabilities:

a) Setting the output voltage slew rate at 1.6 V/ms to control power-rail in-rush current profile as well as minimizing downstream RFI,

b) Setting the internal VOUT discharge feature to 300 W to speed up the discharging of distributed, output capacitive loads, and

c) Providing VOUT power-good output signaling to indicate to downstream dc/dc converters and system controllers that the power rail has reached 90% of final value.

In addition, the SLG6M6201V offers the system designer the ability of setting the power switch's dual-level active current limit at 1.25 or 12.5 A through an external pin for improved over-current detection in low- or high-load current applications.

Available in a 18-pin 2.0 x 3.0 mm STQFN package, the SLG6M6201V is fully specified from -10°C to 70°C.
