At volume-production time, the company has revised specifications for its Stratix II family of FPGAs to reflect faster performance up to 20% and lower power up to 40%. Revised speeds include the DSP block from 350 to 420 MHz, M-RAM block from 350 to 400 MHz, M4K block from 350 to 400 MHz, M512 block from 370 to 380 MHz, and LVDS from 800 to 1,040 Mb/s. In terms of power consumption, the EP2S15 device dissipates as low as 0.18W at 25°C. Other revisions include the removal of a 2A surge current for the EP2S60ES, which now exhibits a monotonic rise in power-up current. ALTERA CORP., San Jose, CA. (408) 544-7000.
