The company's ATX motherboard is hailed the market's first supporter of the 64-bit PowerPC 970FX processor. The board, offered as an evaluation platform, includes support, documentation, downloads, and on-line forums to extract and exploit capabilities of the 1.4 GHz processor. It is available in two configurations: as a complete system with dual processors, 1 GB of DDR SDRAM, 400W power supply, 20 GB IDE hard drive with the 970 file system, and a CD-ROM drive in a clear acrylic case, or as a development, net-boot system with dual processors and 400W power supply, mounted on an acrylic support plate that leaves the board exposed for probing and diagnostics. Both include boot images, scripts, and the busy-box file system, pre-burned into an M-Systems disk on chip. Pricing starts at $6,000 for the full system and $4,500 for the net-boot system.
