The ATA5723, ATA5724, and ATA5728 UHF ASK/FSK receiver ICs are said to offer the best compromise between high integration, performance, and worldwide frequency coverage. Pin compatible, the chips support all standard automotive frequency ranges: 313 to 317 MHz (ATA5723), 432 to 436 MHz (ATA5724), and 868 to 870 MHz (ATA5728). All three support standard Manchester and bi-phase coding signals and they provide a logarithmic RSSI output. Each integrates an image-rejection mixer with a 30-dB rejection figure and a sensitivity of -113 dBm. Additionally, the receivers need few external devices and no external filters. Pricing starts at $1.40 each/10,000. ATMEL CORP., San Jose, CA. (408) 441-0311.
