A distributed energy system (DES) encompasses a variety of generation, storage, energy monitoring, and control solutions. DES is an alternative approach to the traditional electrical grid systems, which were designed for centralized generation and distributed consumption. Distributed energy (DE) generates electricity at, or close to, the point of demand. A DES is critical in increasing the share of the renewable portion and securing an affordable and sustainable supply in developing regions and countries.
