Firm Opens Thermal Design-and-Test Facility

Degree Controls has opened its center for airflow and thermal technologies (CATT) facility in Santa Clara, Calif. The facility will assist West Coast companies in the design, manufacture, and sourcing of cooling subsystems for advanced electronic devices. Available professionals include thermal engineers, electrical engineers, manufacturing engineers, and test engineers, providing experience in packaging, housing, and cooling electronics. In addition to traditional initial thermal analysis consultation, the CATT offers an array of services, from concept and design to manufacturing and cost reduction, as well as agency qualification.

Services include mobile thermal test capabilities and custom heatsink designs, as well as air-mover optimization and customized thermal-sensor and airflow-sensor development. Target applications include ATCA and Micro-TCA chassis design, aircraft cabin and comfort control, and deep-space and satellite applications.
