Octal Logic Selection Simplifies Data Bus Engineering

Diodes Inc. has expanded its low-voltage CMOS logic family with the addition of octal devices, provided in the space-saving QFN and TSSOP 20-pin packages.  Thirteen popular 8-channel logic parts have been introduced, suitable for data bus applications in a wide range of consumer electronics and data communication products.

The octal logic functions added to the Diodes 74LVC family are: buffer/line drivers, transceivers, latches and flip-flops.  Supporting a wide power supply range of 1.65 V to 3.6 V, the new logic devices are drop-in replacements for existing industry-standard parts and support both legacy and cutting-edge, mini cell-backed product designs.

With inputs tolerant of voltages up to a maximum of 5.5 V, the octal logic devices also operate comfortably in mixed voltage environments.  All devices in the product line offer system designers the flexibility of power-down isolation via integral IOFF circuitry, which disables the output in power-down mode to protect against harmful current backflow.

The low-voltage CMOS octal logic from Diodes Incorporated is priced at $0.082 each in single reel quantities of 2.5 k.
