Developed for use as part of a security access system, a Type II PC Card package has the unique ability to house a push-in/pop-out assembly large enough to accommodate a fingerprint reader. The packaging incorporates a patented, sonically-welded two-piece frame kit consisting of insert-molded stainless steel and plastic.
According to the company, this design offers greater ruggedness and durability than standard PC Card packaging and assembles in less than 10s using inexpensive assembly equipment and minimal user training. The rugged two-piece case snaps together for testing prior to assembly. Custom package design is available. Prototypes can be produced in just a few weeks.
