Promising low-conduction loss for solar inverters, welding machines, uninterruptible power supplies, and industrial applications in the 40 Hz to 400 Hz range, the FGH30N60LSD 600V/30A IGBT specifies a typical saturation voltage of 1.1V. The IGBT is a MOS-gate, high-voltage switching device that integrates a fast-recovery diode and employs lead-free terminals. Along those lines, the device is characterized for moisture sensitivity in accordance with the lead-free reflow requirements of the joint IPC/JEDEC standard J-STD-020. Available in a TO-247 package, price is $8.70 each/1,000. FAIRCHILD SEMICONDUCTOR, San Jose, CA. (800) 341-0392.
