This combination device melds a bulkhead-mount, right-angle BNC receptable with an integral switch. The switch actuates when a BNC plug is mated with the receptacle. The units can be used in data, video and telecomm equipment to provide a shielded signal and isolated ground signal. When required, they can be launched directly from the pc board to a chassis port. There’s no need for a BNC terminator plug with these devices, because the signal is routed back to the pc board when no male BNC is plugged into the coaxial receptacle. Four pins hold the connector rigidly to the pc board during assembly. Operation is from zero to 4 GHz with VSWR of 1.5:1 from dc to 1 GHz.
