Claimed as the industry’s fastest multi-field packet classification co-processor, the iFlow Classifier (iCL) is a high-performance networking coprocessor combining classification performance in excess of 100 million searches-per-second (sustained) with an integration level said to be 3 to 7 times that of competing solutions. The device can classify traffic flows at rates up to 40 Gbps and process up to 200M statistics operations per second. The iCL integrates the functional equivalent of a ternary CAM, associated data SRAM, a range matching engine, a statistics engine, and an interface FPGA in a single, low-power device. The search engine on the classifier is capable of 100 million lookups per second on any key width. High-speed LVDS interfaces on the iCL can keep the search engine fed with nearly 20 Gbps of search-key data. The iCL is designed for Layer 2 through Layer 7 packet classification, supporting flexible key sizes from 144 to 432 bits. It provides real-time modification of entries and associated data, and supports a range of applications including ACL, QoS and CoS flow management. The device supports multiple system interfaces including high-speed LDVS, synchronous SRAM and PCI. The iFlow Classifier is sampling now and will enter volume production in the Q2 2002. Pricing is below $300 in volume. SILICON ACCESS NETWORKS, San Jose, CA. (408) 545-1113.
