28V Operating Voltage Regulators with Standby Function

Torex Semiconductor has added a new package of height 0.315mm to the XC6216 series of 28V operating voltage regulators with a standby function. It features an ultra-low profile 0.315mm package; supply current of 5µA; input voltage range of 2.0V to 28.0V; 30V withstand voltage; output voltage setting range of 2.0V to 12.0V; an accuracy of ±2%; maximum output current of 150mA; standby current of 0.1µA or less; and operating ambient temperature of -40°C to +85°C.
RF Signal Generator

RIGOL Technologies has expanded its portfolio of RF test solutions with the introduction of the DSG800 Series signal generator. It covers output frequencies from 9 kHz to 3.0GHz. The instruments provide maximum output power up to +20 dBm and low SSB phase noise of -105 dBc/Hz, amplitude accuracy of ±0.5 dB, and frequency resolution 0.01 Hz at any frequency. An oven-controlled crystal oscillator time-base provides < 5 ppb temperature stability and < 30 ppb/year aging stability.
500-Watt Power Supply

SL Power Electronics has introduced its LU500 open frame AC/DC power supply. At 500 watts, the LU500 is suitable for LED and architectural lighting that requires a small form factor, high efficiency and wide input range.
The unit feature a universal AC input of 90 to 305VAC and DC output range from 12 to 48V. In addition, the LU500's small footprint allows it to fit comfortably into a 2U chassis and provides up to 500 watts with moving air. The new LU500 features active current sharing for parallel operation to deliver up to 1,000 watts for higher power needs. With an average efficiency of over 90%, the LU500 features full output protection with over-temperature sensing circuits that will shut down the power supply, thus protecting the light fixture in case of overheating.
Power Connector Enables Quick Disconnect, Easy Assembly

Amphenol Industrial Products has introduced RoboLok, a three position, high current, primary circuit power connector. This new connector features three fixed, proprietary contacts on each connector, offering a wide range of cable contact configurations.
Suitable for industrial robotic manufacturers, RoboLok delivers an operating temperature rise and a current capacity up to 200 A continuous on a 50 mm² wire. This is 20 A higher than the industry standard.
The unique design of RoboLok offers quick disconnects, and easy tool-less assembly and maintenance. This power connector can be used in industrial robots, tool changer systems, automated assembly lines as well as in a variety of other industrial applications.
Micro Miniature Slide Switches for Hostile Environments

CW Industries' "G" series micro miniature slide switches are capable of switching up to .05 amps at 125VAC with electrical contacts that are completely enclosed for protection from hostile environments. Theses switches are available in SPST and SPDT positions. The extended linear motion of the moving contact over the stationary contacts causes a full wiping motion at each switch actuation resulting in reliability and long term performance.
The switches are UL/CSA listed and have an operating temperature range of -20o C to +105oC. Lead free and RoHS compliant, typical applications include electric shavers, dog grooming equipment, instrumentation and measurement devices, motor driven appliances, model cars, hand held devices, computers, telecom equipment, thermostats and medical devices.
1500V Super-Junction Power MOSFETs

A new family of Power MOSFETs from STMicroelectronics allows designers of power supplies to maximize the power efficiency while enhancing robustness and safety. MDmeshTM K5 devices combine the benefits of super-junction technology with a drain-to-source breakdown voltage of 1500V.
The new devices address the growing demand for higher output power for auxiliary switched-mode power supplies in servers, where power-supply robustness is a key factor in minimizing down-time, and in industrial applications such as welding and factory automation. For these applications, where power output ranges from 75W to 230W or above, super-junction MOSFET technology is suitable because of its high dynamic-switching performance.
Power Cycling Thermoelectric Modules

Standard Thermoelectric Modules (TEMs) are designed to deliver steady cooling and cannot withstand repeated thermal cycling between hot and cold temperatures required by molecular diagnostic equipment used in places like hospitals and medical research laboratories.
Laird's new Power Cycling (PC) Series is constructed with a unique, proprietary thermally conductive "soft layer" that absorbs mechanical stresses caused by ramp rates set at hot and cold temperatures. The new line of Power Cycling TEMs has been proven to perform reliably for more than 600,000 temperature cycles.
Fast-Recovery Rectifier Diode Series

Allegro MicroSystems has introduced a fast-recovery rectifier diode series that incorporates a Schottky barrier diode (SBD) for temperature detection. The FMKS series is used for thermal protection of switching power supplies for various applications.
This new series is targeted at the consumer and industrial markets with end applications to include: white goods, audio & visual equipment, lighting equipment, telecommunication equipment, as well as for secondary-side rectification of switching power supplies.
The FMKS-2000 Series is an ultra-fast recovery diode (200 V reverse voltage) series with an SBD formed on the same die. This makes it possible to detect overheating caused by overcurrent (temperature increase of built-in FRD).
