International Rectifier (IR), a provider of power management technology, and Memec, a global semiconductor distributor specializing in demand creation, have signed a global distribution agreement. IR values Memec's demand creation model and has selected the distributor to provide technical sales, marketing, distribution and logistics globally as an extension of IR's existing sales and support channels. Memec has offices in more than 30 countries, including Japan, and 130 cities.
Robert Grant, IR's executive vice president of sales and corporate marketing, said, "This relationship will strengthen our position in target markets, utilizing our expanding proprietary product portfolio. Together, we can deliver innovative power management solutions to a broad base of customers."
"Memec strives to partner with companies who both lead the industry and develop products that enhance Memec's portfolio," said Greg Provenzano, senior vice president of Memec's global supplier group. "International Rectifier's power management solutions enable Memec to create demand, while helping customers develop highly differentiated products. IR's solutions will complement Memec's existing portfolio strength in the communications, storage, industrial and medical markets."
