Foil Technology Yields Low Power Coefficient Resistors

Authors Reuven Goldstein and Joseph Szwarc, Vishay Intertechnology, Israel, discuss how foil technology yields low power coefficient resistors in this June cover feature. Maintaining the same form/fit function as conventional devices, a new “Z-based” foil technology reduces resistor sensitivity to applied power changes, enabling a tenfold improvement in the effects of ambient temperature and self-heating, and increased accuracy for fixed-resistor applications.
