MITIGATION OF UNBALANCED INPUT DC FOR INVERTER APPLICATIONS

Mitigating the DC content of an AC output from an inverter is important for electrical system reliability. The inverter may be powered by unbalanced DC inputs while still mitigating the DC content of the AC output wavefrom. The present invention provides methods to mitigate the DC content in the output DC voltage by reshaping the PWM reference signals (carrier signals) according to the DC content in such a way that the DC content is canceled. These reshaped PWM reference signals may be, for example, unsymmetrical reference waveforms. Unlike conventional methods for providing an AC voltage from a DC voltage with an inverter, which may result in DC content in the output AC voltage when an unbalanced DC input voltage is supplied, the present invention provides methods for mitigating the DC content in an AC voltage, even if the inverter providing the AC voltage is supplied with unbalanced DC voltage.

SWITCHING POWER SUPPLY UNIT

A switching power supply unit is provided, which can output a DC voltage and an AC voltage with a minimized installation space. A switching circuit is provided between a winding of a transformer and a main battery. A rectifier circuit is provided between other windings of the transformer and an accessory battery. Output terminals for outputting an AC output voltage are provided at the other side of the transformer, the AC output voltage being generated based on a DC input voltage inputted from the main battery. A DC output voltage and the AC output voltage are generated based on the DC input voltage, and then outputted. The transformer is shared by a generation path of the DC output voltage and a generation path of the AC output voltage. An AC voltage input section to be inputted with the AC input voltage from external equipment may be provided at the other side of the transformer.

METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR OPERATING AN ELECTRIC MOTOR COUPLED TO MULTIPLE POWER SUPPLIES

Methods and systems are provided for operating an electric motor having at least one winding coupled to first and second power supplies. A torque command for the electric motor is received. A present power reserve for the first and second power supplies is determined based at least in part on the torque command. An operating voltage for the second power supply is determined based on the present power reserve. The operating voltage for the second power supply is applied to the at least one winding. The application of the operating voltage allowing the present power reserve to flow between the first and second power supplies and the motor.

This deadbeat control method for regulating an output voltage U.sub.c or an output current I.sub.l of a low-pass RLC filter includes: calculation (92) of a current setting .sub.uc for the average intensity .sub.u of a DC current I.sub.u flowing through a first output point of the filter between instants t.sub.i and t.sub.i+1, this setting .sub.uc being established from discretized state equations of the filter in such a way that the voltage U.sub.c or the line current I.sub.l is equal to a predetermined setting of voltage U.sub.cc or of line current I.sub.lc at the instant t.sub.i+1, control (100) of an electric converter in order to produce a current I.sub.u flowing through the filter, the average intensity .sub.u of which between the instants t.sub.iand t.sub.i+1 is equal to the current setting .sub.uc.

ELECTRICAL DEVICES USING ELECTRONMAGNETIC ROTORS

A device for generating electrical or mechanical output, comprising a rotor coil, a rotor assembly with an axis, and having rotator extensions, a stator coil, and a stator assembly, the stator assembly having two sets of stator flux conductor extensions, the rotator end of the stator flux conductor extension having a stator conductor surface and the interior ends of the first set of stator flux conductor extensions abutting the interior ends of the second stator flux conductor extensions at an abutting junction, wherein rotating the rotor assembly about the axis alternates the rotor assembly between a first and second position in which each of the rotor extension surfaces alternately face the stator conductor surfaces of the first and second set of stator flux conductor extensions. The first and second positions of the rotor assembly lead to the conduction of magnetic flux in the device in opposite paths in the stator assembly generating an output in an output coil. .

A power device package includes an insulating substrate with an interconnection pattern disposed on the insulating substrate. The interconnection pattern comprises a single conductive layer comprising a first metal layer, and a multiple conductive layer comprising another first metal layer and a second metal layer disposed on the another first metal layer. A plurality of wires are attached to an upper surface of the single conductive layer and/or an upper surface of the second metal layer of the multiple conductive layer. Contact pads on a power control semiconductor chip and a low power semiconductor chip driving the power control semiconductor chip are electrically connected to the wires.
