DC-DC Converters

The 859 Series of DIN rail mount dc-dc converters are offered in four voltage ranges and solve many power source issues. For example, the 12-V to 24-V step-up converter (WAGO P/N 859-804) is typically used in remote locations when only 12 Vdc is available. This module can produce 24 Vdc at up to 250 mA from a 12-Vdc source. For applications that have a 12-Vdc battery/charger source, it offers a wide input range to tolerate the variability associated with battery/charger power sources.

SMD Current Sense Resistors

The 60S Series of SMD current sense resistors is offered in three standard power ratings (0.25 W, 0.50 W and 1 W), with a resistance range from 0.002 Ω to 0.008 Ω in standard 5% tolerance. The 60S Series extends the company's extensive range of current sense resistors to ratings under 1 W and values below 0.0005 Ω.

Power Converters

The PMC4000 regulators offer point-of-load power conversion in a 33-mm × 13.5-mm × 8.3-mm surface-mount package. They generate a programmable output of 0.75 V to 3.63 V, while operating from an input in the 3-V to 5.5-V range. The output voltage can be adjusted by setting a control voltage or by a resistor trim adjustment. The PMC4000 family comprises two parts: the PMC 4318 WS with its 10 A output capability, and the PMC 4518T WS with a 16 A rating. Both feature typical efficiencies of 96% and an operating temperature range of -30°C to 90°C.

Line Voltage Protector

This newest addition to the LVR Series of PolySwitch resettable devices increases the maximum hold current rating from 400 mA to 550 mA and protects devices from damage caused by overcurrent and overtemperature fault conditions. It gives the LVR Series full coverage of applications up to 120 W at 220 Vac and 60 W at 120 Vac. Designed for use in line voltage applications, the polymeric positive temperature coefficient (PPTC) devices are rated at 240 Vac, permitting maximum voltages of up to 265 Vac.

Manganese-Zinc Ferrite Materials

P51 soft ferrite material, offered in a selection of core shapes for high-frequency power electronics applications, meets the performance requirements of dc-dc converters with operating frequency requirements up to 1 MHz. It offers a 50% reduction in core loss characteristics at elevated temperatures and a 20% increase in saturation flux density. Applications include switch-mode power supplies, dc-dc converters and high-frequency transformers.

Temperature Sensor/Fan Controller

The CMSSH-3E Series comes in four configurations and features an improved standard maximum rated peak repetitive reverse voltage of 40 V and a maximum rated continuous forward current of 200 mA. With a maximum forward voltage drop of 0.42 V and a fast switching speed (trr) of 5 ns, they're designed for portable handheld electronic products. Packaged in the SUPERmini SOT-323 surface-mount case, they require 38% less circuit board space than devices packaged in a standard SOT-23.

Power Manager/Battery Charger

The LTC4055 single-IC autonomous power manager and battery charger is for USB and USB On-The-Go devices. It provides power to the USB peripheral device and charges the peripheral's single-cell Li-Ion battery from the USB VBUS or a wall adapter power supply if the adapter is present. To comply with USB current limit specifications, it automatically reduces battery charge current as the system load current increases.

The Hot Plug contact allows for frequent engagement and disengagement of “live” electrical systems, without causing system failures and costly downtimes. Designed to ensure signal integrity under harsh electrical conditions, its patent-pending design offers live plug capability to over 50 mating cycles, is immune to the effects of shock and vibration, carries a low contact resistance and has been tested to applicable sections of UL1977 Safety Standard. Ion Beam Power System

The FIBX Series high-voltage power system is for driving ion beam columns for focused ion beam applications. The FIBX provides highly stable and precision outputs to accelerate, steer and focus ion beams, and is designed with the exacting specifications required for delicate operations. It houses a 45-kV acceleration supply with 200-mV ripple p-p and stability at 1.5 V drift per 10 hr of operation. Floating on the beam supply are highly stable filament, extractor, and suppressor supplies, as well as two ground-referenced lens supplies. All modules are controlled and monitored via an optically isolated RS232 interface. The compact 6U chassis weighs 55 lbs.

Circuit Breaker/Switch

The CITR2 marries the function of a thermal circuit breaker with the look, feel and utility of a rocker switch. When an overload condition occurs, the contacts break apart. By returning the actuator to the “off” position then back to “on,” the circuit-breaker mechanism is reset. If a surge occurs above the rated thermal disconnect, the switch automatically breaks.
