Sony Ericsson unwraps automotive-grade, quad-band GSM/GPRS radio device

Sony Ericsson has added the GA64 to its M2M (machine-to-machine) line of quad-band, GSM/GPRS radio devices. Based on the GX64 Family Core, the GA64 is designed to meet regulatory and industrial requirements for automotive, fleet and industrial devices.

Features include USB functionality, on-board Bluetooth and GPS technology, a TCP/IP kernel for increased power, an onboard SIM card holder, and low-loss RF connectors. The device is also said to be less than half the size of its predecessor.
