Micrel licenses QwikRadio manufacturers

Micrel has licensed SECOM and Tekall Technologies Company Ltd. to manufacture and market its QwikRadio RF modules, which are used in automotive, industrial and consumer applications.

The single-chip amplitude shift keyed/on-off-keyed ICs, intended to shorten time to market, come in fixed data rates at standard frequencies (1 KBPS Manchester at 315 MHz or 433 MHz). They operate within a 300-foot radius at data rates below 10 Kbps. Receivers in the series are "antenna-in, data-out" devices and the transmitter is an equivalent "data-in, antenna-out" part. Neither the transmitter nor the receivers require hand tweaking with trimmer capacitors, as tuning is performed automatically, according to Micrel.
